DEVADO is the alias of Munich-based RnB pop artist Debby van Dooren. Being a so called “DIY artist”, the German-American writes, records and produces all her songs in her basement home studio only using her vocals and body percussion on all of her tracks.
Producers like Timbaland, Pharrell and Jon Bellion have had a major influence on the sonic image of her productions. Her sound was recently also compared to Destiny ́s Child by a radio host. Experimenting with new sounds, DEVADO transforms her voice and body percussion into instruments on her tracks, giving her a unique sound that stands out in the mainstream pop world.
In 2021 DEVADO released her song “Never Gonna Fit In” that made its way into German radio stations and Mercedes-AMG invited the artist to perform it at the IAA21. She is currently on tour with her „one-woman-show“, where she demonstrates on her iPad and Launchpad how she creates her sounds and productions! Her infectious, bubbly personality brings broad crowds, including children, to sing and dance along to her catchy songs!
She has been releasing a new song every six to eight weeks, including creative music videos she directs and edits herself.
WONDERLAND and Earmilk already set an eye on the artist by introducing her music to their international audience. Spotify featured her single „The happy song (My cool)“ on their „Fresh Finds GSA“ playlist, aside of Tidal ́s and Apple Music ́s „New in Pop“.
